Edward Lamonte Franklin (born January 16, 1928 – died July 31, 1975) was an American blues musician. Most people knew him as Guitar Pete Franklin. He was a singer, played guitar, and wrote songs. His most famous song was "Guitar Pete's Blues."

About Guitar Pete Franklin
Edward Lamonte Franklin was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. Even though his nickname was "Guitar Pete," he was also very good at playing the piano. When he played guitar, he was inspired by another musician named Scrapper Blackwell. On the piano, his style was similar to Leroy Carr, who once lived with his mother.
Pete Franklin was a talented musician who could play many different styles. He was good at electric blues, which is a type of blues music that uses electric instruments. He often played music with other musicians.

His first time recording music was in 1947. He played guitar for St. Louis Jimmy Oden on a song called "Coming Up Fast." Pete Franklin started recording his own songs in 1949. His first single was called "Casey Brown Blues."
Pete Franklin also made recordings with other famous blues musicians. These included Jazz Gillum, John Brim, Sunnyland Slim, and Tampa Red. He worked with many different artists throughout his career.
