Sonja Gunilla Persson (born December 31, 1958) is a Swedish television star and singer. She also used to be a fashion model. Her parents are Nils Erik Persson and Iris Strid.

Gunilla Persson started her career in media. She worked at Sveriges Radio, which is a big radio station in Sweden. There, she hosted a show where she interviewed famous people.

Modelling Career

Gunilla Persson became a model in the 1980s. In 1983, she entered a modelling contest called The Face of the 80's. A famous judge from the contest, Eileen Ford, signed her to her modelling agency in New York City. Gunilla also worked for another well-known agency, Elite Model Management.

She appeared on the covers of many magazines. One of her notable covers was for the German edition of Bazaar. She also modelled lingerie for a brand called La Perla.

In the late 1970s, Gunilla moved from Sweden to the United States. She lived in Dallas and later in New York City. She also studied acting at Stella Adler's acting school.

Gunilla Persson has been in many TV shows. She had a small part in the 1980s soap opera Dallas.

In 2010, she made her debut in a reality series called Svenska New holllywoodfruar. She then became very well known for appearing in Svenska Hollywoodfruar (Swedish Hollywood Wives). She was part of eight seasons of this popular show.

In 2014, Gunilla participated in Realitystjärnorna på godset. This show featured reality stars living together. In 2015, she got her own show called Gunilla tycker till. In this show, her fans voted on different jobs for her to try. She also had a news show called The Gunilla Show in 2017.

In 2018, Gunilla Persson was on the celebrity version of Biggest Loser. This show helps people get healthier.

Most recently, in 2024, she competed in Melodifestivalen 2024. This is a big music competition in Sweden. She sang the song "I Won't Shake (La La Gunilla)".

Personal Life

Gunilla Persson has a daughter named Erika. Erika was born in August 2002.
