Guy Mongrain's Career Journey

Guy Mongrain started his media career in 1977. He worked as a news radio anchor. His first time on television was in 1981. He helped with several shows on TVA, like Midi Soleil and Bonjour matin.

Hosting Game Shows

Mongrain hosted his first quiz game in 1987. It was called Quebec a la carte. This show was about tourism in Quebec. He hosted it for less than a year. After that, he hosted Charivari for over four years, until 1992.

From 1994 to 2001, he hosted Fort Boyard. He also hosted Vingt-et-un, which lasted for only one season. For a very long time, from 1993 to 2018, he was the host of La Poule aux œufs d'or. This was a popular lottery game show for Loto-Québec.

Morning TV Host

For over 12 years, from 1991 to 2004, Guy Mongrain also hosted the TVA morning show Salut, Bonjour!. This show featured news, fun segments, and interviews with various guests. It was a big part of his career.
