Gwyneth Rees (born on May 10, 1968) is a British writer who creates amazing children's books. Many kids love her stories. Her book The Mum Hunt won the Red House Children's Book Award for Younger Readers in 2019. Another one of her books, My Mum's from Planet Pluto, was also nominated for the Carnegie Medal that same year. She is also well-known for her Fairy Dust series and the Mermaid Magic trilogy.

Gwyneth Rees was born in Leicester, England, in 1968. She has both Welsh and English family roots. When she was six, her family moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where she grew up.

Gwyneth studied medicine at Glasgow University. She used to work in London as a doctor who helps children with their feelings and thoughts. This type of doctor is called a child psychiatrist. Now, she writes books full-time.

She wrote her very first book when she was only ten years old! She was inspired by another famous children's author, Enid Blyton. However, her first book to be officially published was Something Secret in 2001.

Fantasy Adventures

The Fairy Dust series features different human characters in each book. The stories take place in various beautiful parts of the British countryside.
