How is Haa District Organized?
Like other districts in Bhutan, Haa is divided into smaller areas called gewogs. These are like village blocks or sub-districts. Each gewog has its own local administration that helps manage the area.
There are six main village blocks in Haa District:

- Gakiling Gewog
- Katsho Gewog
- Sama Gewog
- Sangbay Gewog
- Uesu Gewog
What is the Haa Valley like?
The Haa Valley is one of the highest valleys in Bhutan. It's surrounded by towering peaks and dense forests. The valley is known for its clean air and peaceful environment. Many people visit Haa to enjoy hiking and to see the traditional way of life.
Important Places in Haa
One of the most important places in Haa is the Haa Dzong. A dzong is a large fortress that serves as both a monastery and an administrative center. It's a key part of Bhutanese architecture and history.
Another famous site is the Lhakhang Karpo, also known as the White Temple. This ancient temple is believed to have been built a very long time ago, possibly in the 7th century. It's a sacred place where monks live and study.
