Haldreka is a small village located in Hiiumaa Parish, which is part of Hiiu County in northwestern Estonia. It's a quiet place in a beautiful part of the country.
History of Haldreka
The village of Haldreka has a long history. It was first written about in official records way back in 1693. At that time, it was called Haldrico.
For many years, Haldreka was part of a large estate known as Emmaste Manor. A manor was like a big country house with lots of land around it, often owned by a wealthy family.
Interestingly, for a period between 1977 and 1997, Haldreka was actually considered part of another nearby village called Kaderna. After 1997, it became its own separate village again.
