Church History
The story of Hampton Methodist Church goes back a long way! The very first Methodist chapel in Hampton was built in 1861. It was a small church located on Church Street.
New Buildings Over Time
As the years passed, the church needed more space. So, in 1926, a new and bigger chapel was built on Percy Road. The church building that stands today was opened in 1963. It was designed by an architect named Martin Lidbetter. You can find it on the west side of Percy Road, between Priory Road and Lindon Road.
Church Leaders
Churches have leaders who help guide the community. These leaders are often called ministers or pastors. Mr Philip Slater is the current pastor at Hampton Methodist Church. He started his role in 2023.
