About Hannes Van Dahl
Hannes Van Dahl changed his name as an adult. His love for rock and metal music started because of skateboarding. His cousin, who played in a local band, and his mother, who played music for him, were big inspirations.
When he was 10, Hannes began playing the bass guitar. But he soon found that he liked drums more. He then switched to playing the drums.
Early Bands and Joining Evergrey
Later, Hannes started a band called Downthrust. He left this band to join Evergrey in 2009. He took the place of their previous drummer, Jonas Ekdahl.
Hannes's drumming teacher, Snowy Shaw, saw how talented he was. Snowy Shaw suggested Hannes to the band Evergrey. When Snowy Shaw was the drummer for Sabaton, Hannes worked as his drum technician for four shows.
Joining Sabaton
After a practice session at The Abyss studio, Hannes officially joined Sabaton. This happened during their Swedish Empire Tour in 2013.
In 2014, Sabaton released their album Heroes. This was the first Sabaton album that Hannes Van Dahl recorded with the band.
