Hans Klok, born Johannes Franciscus Catharinus Klok on February 22, 1969, is a famous Dutch magician and illusionist. He is known for his fast-paced and exciting magic shows.

Hans Klok's Early Life and Career
Hans Klok was born in Purmerend, Netherlands. When he turned ten, he got a magic set as a gift. He quickly started performing tricks for his friends at their birthday parties.
Hans began his magic career as a teenager. At age fourteen, he became the youth champion of the Netherlands and Europe in magic. He also won the Wenegini Prize. In 1990, Hans and his assistant Sittah won the Grand Prix of the Netherlands. They also received the Henk Vermeijden Cup for "the fastest metamorphosis in the world." By age 23, he was part of a touring show with Dutch comedian André van Duin.
Performing in Las Vegas
In 1994, Klok performed for the first time on the Las Vegas Strip. This was part of NBC's The World's Greatest Magic show. It was broadcast live from Caesars Palace to 60 million people. After this, Hans prepared his first theater show. It opened in October at the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. In 1998, he had a second theater show called 'Magic Live on Stage'. This was followed by 'Magic Impossible'.
During the opening of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, about 500 million football fans watched Klok. He made the 18-carat gold World Trophy appear from thin air. It was inside a glass cage.
In 2007, Klok had a show on the Las Vegas Strip called The Beauty of Magic. This 90-minute show was at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. It opened on June 1 and closed in mid-December. The show featured Pamela Anderson as one of Klok's assistants. She helped with several illusions, including being sawn in half. Klok had also featured Carmen Electra in his illusions before.
Touring and TV Appearances
Klok has worked on Klassetv, an English program for Dutch kids. He gets help from English children in the British School of Amsterdam. He also works with kids from the International School of Amsterdam.
Klok toured Europe in 2010 and 2011 with his show The Houdini Experience. This show was a tribute to Harry Houdini, one of his childhood heroes. It followed the success of his show Hurricane.
For the 2011 Dutch TV show Try before you die 2, Klok took part in a dare. He performed in a show at The Chippendales Theatre in April 2011.
In February and March 2012, Klok visited the UK with The Houdini Experience. He performed for five weeks at the Peacock Theatre in London. Model and actress Linda Lusardi was his assistant for the gala opening night. She took part in illusions like the Buzzsaw finale.
He then appeared on BBC TV's The One Show to promote his performances. This led to him performing at Stella McCartney's London Fashion Week 2012 party. He entertained VIP guests with tricks and illusions. These included levitating and sawing in half TV presenter Alexa Chung.
Klok later shared that Kate Moss saw him on The One Show. She suggested to Stella McCartney that he should perform at her fashion show. The original plan was for Moss to be his assistant. She even rehearsed illusions like levitation and sawing. However, she could not perform due to a temporary arm issue. So, Alexa Chung stepped in to replace her.
On March 19, 2012, Hans Klok was named a member of the Inner Circle with Gold Star. This honor was given by Jack Delvin, president of The Magic Circle. This title is given to only a few special members.
During his UK visit, Klok made a guest appearance on the final episode of the BBC TV show The Magicians. He broke his own world record there. He performed 12 large illusions in just five minutes.
In May 2013, Klok performed the Illusion Challenge again. This was on the French TV show Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde. This time, he performed 15 illusions in five minutes, breaking the world record once more. In recent years, Klok has successfully toured the Netherlands and Germany. His shows have been sold out everywhere he goes.
On July 10, 2013, Klok performed the Jaws of Death above the Amstel in Amsterdam. This was a publicity stunt for his "The New Houdini" show.
On January 26, 2014, Klok won the Silver Clown at the 38th International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo. He is the first illusionist to ever win this award. In August 2014, Klok went on tour with The New Houdini in the Netherlands for the last time.
