Happy Valley is a small community in New Mexico, United States. It is located in Eddy County. This type of community is called a census-designated place. This means it's an area identified by the government for counting people, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
In 2020, about 617 people lived in Happy Valley. The community is found on the western edge of Carlsbad. A road called New Mexico State Road 524 goes right through the area.
Happy Valley started as a place for farming. Later, a material called potash was made there. The community got its name because people were happy living there. This was because there were not many rules about how they could use their land.
