The Harris House is a historic building found in Barneveld, Wisconsin. It is known for its unique design.

The Harris House Story

This interesting house was built a long time ago by a local lumberman. A lumberman is someone who works with wood and timber. The house was made to welcome visitors. These visitors came to see a nearby mineral spring. A mineral spring is a natural water source that people once believed had special health benefits.

The Harris House has a beautiful style called Queen Anne. This style often includes towers, decorative porches, and different textures on the outside. You can see special designs, called lintels, above the windows.

A Historic Landmark

Because of its history and unique architecture, the Harris House is considered very important. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. This register is a list of buildings, sites, and objects that are important in American history. Being on this list helps protect the building.

Later, in 1989, it was also added to the State Register of Historic Places. This means it is recognized as an important historical site within Wisconsin.
