Henri "Harry" Steevens is a famous Dutch cyclist who was born on April 27, 1945. He was a professional cyclist from 1960 to 1972. Harry competed in many important races and won several big titles during his career. He is known for his strong performance in road cycling events.
Harry Steevens: A Cycling Champion
Harry Steevens showed great talent in cycling from a young age. He competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. In the individual road race, he finished in 40th place. This was a great achievement for a young cyclist.
Winning Medals and Races
Two years after the Olympics, Harry achieved a major success. He won a silver medal at the 1966 UCI Road World Championships. This medal was for the team time trial event, where cyclists race against the clock as a team.
Harry also won several other important races:
- The Olympia's Tour in 1965. This is a well-known stage race for young cyclists.
- The Ronde van Limburg in 1966. This is a classic one-day race in his home region.
