Hartwood, Ohio facts for kids
Hartwood is a small place in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's not an official city or town with its own government. Instead, it's a group of homes and buildings that are part of the larger county.
A Glimpse into Hartwood's History
Even though Hartwood is a small community, it has some interesting history. For a short time, it even had its own post office! This post office opened in 1900. However, it closed just two years later, in 1902.
One of the oldest buildings in Hartwood is the Hartwood Methodist Protestant Church. This church was founded a very long time ago, in the 1830s. It has been a central part of the community for many generations.
