Harun Tekin, born on June 28, 1977, is a talented Turkish singer, musician, and poet. He is best known as a founding member and the lead singer of the popular Turkish rock band Mor ve Ötesi.
About Harun Tekin
Harun Tekin grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. In 1988, while attending the German High School in Istanbul, he met Kerem Kabadayı. They later formed their first band together.
Harun went on to study at Boğaziçi University, where he focused on philosophy. He graduated in 2001. After a big earthquake in Turkey in 1999, he helped out at the Earthquake Communication Centre.
Harun is interested in many things, including philosophy, politics, and football. He is also a big fan of the famous band Radiohead. Since 2014, he has been in a relationship with actress Melisa Sözen.
His Music Journey
Harun Tekin's musical journey began in 1990. He and his school friend Kerem Kabadayı started a group called "Decision." Harun played the guitar.
In 1995, the musicians decided to sing in Turkish. They formed a new band called Mor ve Ötesi. The name means "Purple and Beyond," and it's a clever play on the word for "ultraviolet." In this new band, Harun became the main singer. He and Burak Güven are the main songwriters for the group.
Harun has also worked on music for films. In 2007, he performed a song for the movie Kayıp. He also sang a song called "İstasyon İnsanları" for another artist's album in 2008.
