Sami Harun Tekin was born on June 28, 1977. He is a talented Turkish singer, musician, and poet. Harun is best known as one of the people who started the famous Turkish rock band Mor ve Ötesi. He is also the main singer for the band.

Harun Tekin's Life Story
Early Life and Education
Harun Tekin went to the German High School in Istanbul. While he was there in 1988, he met Kerem Kabadayı. They became good friends and later started their very first band together.
After high school, Harun continued his studies. In 1996, he began studying philosophy at Boğaziçi University. He worked hard and graduated in 2001.
Helping Others and TV Appearances
In 1999, a big earthquake happened in Turkey. Harun wanted to help, so he joined Açık Radio. He worked at the Earthquake Communication Centre, helping people connect and get information.
Harun also appeared on television. In 2008, he was on a Turkish TV show called Kısa Devre. He was on the show with a doctor named Cem Mumcu and an actress named Pelin Batu.
Later, in 2010, Harun even tried acting! He appeared in two episodes of a very popular Turkish TV series. The show was called Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi.

Harun Tekin has many interests. He enjoys learning about philosophy, which is about big ideas and how we think. He also cares about politics and loves football. Harun is a big fan of the famous band Radiohead.
Harun Tekin's Music Journey
Starting a Band
In 1990, Harun Tekin and his school friend Kerem Kabadayı decided to form a band. They called their first group "Decision." Other friends, Şahin Yalabık and Alper Tekin, also joined them.
At first, Şahin Yalabık was the singer. But in 1991, the band started playing rock music. Harun began playing the guitar. Later, another guitarist, Derin Esmer, joined the group.
Forming Mor ve Ötesi
After Şahin Yalabık left the band, the musicians wanted to try something new. They decided to write songs with Turkish lyrics. So, in 1995, they started a new band called Mor ve Ötesi. The name means "Purple and Beyond," and it's a clever play on the Turkish word for ultraviolet.
In the beginning, Harun shared the singing role with Derin Esmer. But in 1999, Derin left the band. After that, Harun became the only lead singer for Mor ve Ötesi. Harun and another band member, Burak Güven, are the main people who write the band's songs.
Other Music Projects
Harun Tekin has also worked on music outside of Mor ve Ötesi. In 2007, he created the soundtrack for a movie called Kayıp, directed by Veli Çelik.
In 2008, he sang a song called "İstasyon İnsanları." This song was part of an album by another musician named Teoman, called Söz Müzik Teoman.
