The Story of Haseltine
This community has been known by a couple of other names in the past. It was once called "Dorchester" and also "Hazeltine Station." A place for sending and receiving mail, known as a post office, was set up in Dorchester in 1881. This post office served the community for many years, finally closing down in 1904. The name "Haseltine" comes from the local Hazeltine family, who were important in the area's history.
