Haseville, Missouri facts for kids
Haseville (sometimes spelled Haysville) is a small, quiet place in the northwest part of Linn County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
This community is located right on Missouri Route E, just west of Missouri Route 139. A small stream called Little Muddy Creek flows along the west side of the area. The town of Laredo is about six miles to the west, in a neighboring county called Grundy County.
What is the History of Haseville?
Haseville got its start a long time ago. A post office was opened there in 1879, which helped people send and receive mail. This post office stayed open for many years, until 1908. The community was named after a local businessman named John Hays.
