What Are Hassan Abbasi's Ideas?
Ideas on Military Strategy
Some experts believe Hassan Abbasi helped create Iran's ideas on "asymmetric warfare." This is a type of fighting where a smaller group uses unusual methods to fight a larger, stronger enemy. For example, they might use surprise attacks or hidden tactics.
An intelligence expert named Jahangir Arasli wrote in 2007 that Abbasi helped develop these ideas. This work happened at Imam Hussein University.
Views on History and Politics
Hassan Abbasi has shared some very strong opinions about history. He has also talked about political ideas. Historian Meir Litvak says that Abbasi's views on history are sometimes out of time. He is seen as someone who supports certain ideas that are not widely accepted.
Some people have called Abbasi a "strategic brain" for Iran's leaders. In 2004, Michael Ledeen suggested that Abbasi works as a thinker for Iran's Supreme Leader. He might have a special role in dealing with North American affairs.
Abbasi is also linked to a group of strong conservative thinkers in Iranian politics. These thinkers are part of an organization called 'Ammar Headquarters'. This group was started in 2011 and is connected to the Revolutionary Guards.
In 2014, a security study suggested that a group called the «Basij Cyber Council» works under Abbasi's guidance.
Recent Public Statements
In February 2019, Hassan Abbasi gave a speech where he strongly criticized some government leaders. He disagreed with President Hassan Rouhani, Speaker Ali Larijani, and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. His criticism was about their support for a nuclear agreement called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. He used very strong words to show his disapproval.
Soon after this speech, Javad Zarif offered to resign from his position. However, President Rouhani did not accept his resignation.
