A Bit of History
How Hatton Got Its Name
Hatton has been around for a long time. Back in 1882, a special building called a post office was opened there. A post office is where people send and receive letters and packages. The person in charge of the post office was called a postmaster.
An early postmaster named Frank Hatton was very important to the community. He was the one who gave the area his last name, and that's how Hatton got its name! The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1953.
