Discover Hatton's History
Hatton has an interesting past, even though it's a small place today.
How Hatton Began
The area we now call Hatton was first settled and mapped out in 1880. Back then, it had a different name: East Millgrove Station. This name likely came from a nearby mill and its connection to a train station.
The Post Office Days
A few years later, in 1882, a post office was opened in the community. It was at this time that the name "Hatton" was officially used. The post office served the local residents for many years, helping them send and receive mail. However, it eventually closed down in 1922. Even though the post office is gone, the name Hatton has remained.
