Hayle Kimbro Pool is a type of wetland, which is an area of land that is covered by water, either all the time or for part of the year. This particular wetland has three shallow ponds. In winter, when there is more rain, these ponds can cover a total area of about 23,000 square metres.
Where is Hayle Kimbro Pool?
This wetland is found on a part of Cornwall called The Lizard. It is located about two miles (3 km) southeast of a town called Mullion. You can find it just northeast of the Predannack airfield.

Hayle Kimbro Pool is also famous for its dragonflies. In 1995, it was the first place in Britain where the Scarlet Dragonfly was seen. A few years later, in 1999, it was also the first site where scientists found proof that the Lesser Emperor dragonfly was breeding. This shows how important the pool is for these beautiful insects.
