Haysville was first planned and settled around the year 1835. It was named to honor Judge Willis Hayes. He was the person who originally owned the land where the community was built.
Later, in 1846, a post office was opened in Haysville. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years. It continued to operate until it closed down in 1914.
