Hayuma Tanaka (田中 隼磨, Tanaka Hayuma) is a Japanese football player. He was born on July 31, 1982. Hayuma plays as a defender for Matsumoto Yamaga FC. He also played for the Japan national team.

Playing for Football Clubs

Hayuma Tanaka was born in Matsumoto, Japan. He started his football journey in the youth team of Yokohama Flügels. In 1998, Yokohama Flügels merged with another team, Yokohama Marinos. Because of this, Hayuma moved to the Yokohama F. Marinos youth team.

Starting with Yokohama F. Marinos

In 2000, Hayuma joined the main team of Yokohama F. Marinos. He played his first game in the 2000 Emperor's Cup. In 2001, he played many games as a defensive midfielder. His team, Marinos, won the 2001 J.League Cup that year. However, he did not play much in 2002.

Loan to Tokyo Verdy

In June 2002, Hayuma went to Tokyo Verdy for a short time. He changed his position to a right side-back and became a regular player. But in 2003, he played less often.

Returning to Yokohama F. Marinos

Hayuma came back to Yokohama F. Marinos in 2004. He became a regular player as a right side midfielder. Marinos won the J1 League championship that year. From 2005 to 2008, he played more than 30 games each season.

Playing for Nagoya Grampus

In 2009, Hayuma moved to Nagoya Grampus. He quickly became a regular right side-back under manager Dragan Stojković. In 2010, Grampus won the J1 League championship. This was the first time in the club's history. In 2011, Grampus also finished in second place in the J1 League.

Joining Matsumoto Yamaga FC

In 2014, Hayuma moved to his hometown club, Matsumoto Yamaga FC. This team was in the J2 League at the time. He was given the number "3" shirt. This number was worn by his former teammate, Naoki Matsuda, at Marinos. Hayuma played regularly and helped the team finish second. They were promoted to the J1 League for the first time ever.

In 2015, he played in all 34 matches. However, the club finished 16th out of 18 teams and went back down to J2 after one year. In 2018, Matsumoto Yamaga FC won the J2 League championship. They were promoted back to J1 again.

Playing for Japan

On August 9, 2006, Hayuma Tanaka played his first game for the Japan national team. This game was against Trinidad and Tobago.
