Heckington Methodist Church is a church located in the village of Heckington, which is in Lincolnshire, England. It is a place where people of the Methodist faith gather for worship and community activities.

History of the Church Building

The story of the Methodist church in Heckington began a long time ago.

Early Methodist Chapels

The very first Methodist chapel in the village was built in 1809. This was a simple building where people could meet and worship. However, as the community grew, a larger space was needed. So, in 1835, a new and bigger chapel was built on Saint Andrew's Street.

Building the Current Church

The church building you see today started being built in 1904. It was designed by an architect named Albert Edward Lambert from Nottingham. The construction of this new church was finished in 1905. It cost about £2,250 to build, which was a lot of money back then! A company called T. Barlow and Co. from Nottingham did the construction work.

What Happens Now?

Heckington Methodist Church is an active part of its community today.

Services and Activities

The church is part of the Sleaford circuit, which is a group of Methodist churches in the area. Every Sunday, a service is held at 10:30 AM for people to attend. Besides Sunday services, the church is also used for many different social activities throughout the week. These activities help bring people together and support the local community.
