His Life Story
Hector Jandany was born around 1929 in a place called Warmun, also known as Turkey Creek. When he was young, his father passed away. His mother soon remarried.
Around the age of 10, Hector went with his family to Argyle. This was his father's homeland. He stayed there for a long time. For a while, he worked as a stockman, looking after cattle.
Hector had many different jobs. He worked on the Texas Downs station. He also worked as a cook.
Later in his life, Hector became a chairman at the school in Warmun. This role was very important to him. He worked hard to make sure that the local Aboriginal culture was taught in the school. He had a big influence on the school and its students.
