Henderson, Missouri facts for kids
Henderson is a small, unincorporated community located in Webster County, in the state of Missouri, United States. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. It's part of the larger county.
History of Henderson
Henderson was officially planned and mapped out in 1880. This process is called "platting." The community was named to honor a person known as "Uncle Sam" Henderson. He was an important "pioneer citizen," which means he was one of the first people to settle and help build up the area. For a time, Henderson even had its own post office, but it closed down in 1905. This often happens when communities become smaller or nearby towns grow larger.
