Hendrysburg is a small place in Belmont County, Ohio, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or a town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
The Story of Hendrysburg
Hendrysburg was started a long time ago, in the year 1828. A man named Charles Hendry was the one who planned out the community. He decided to name it after himself, so that's how Hendrysburg got its name.
A few years later, in 1830, a post office was opened in the community. This was very important because it helped people send and receive letters and packages. It was first called "Hendrysburgh." Later, in 1893, the name was changed to the simpler "Hendrysburg." The post office served the community for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1983.
