Henry Daubeney, also known as Dabney, was an important English nobleman who lived from 1493 to 1548. He held the titles of 1st Earl of Bridgewater and 2nd Baron Daubeney. As a peer, he was a member of the House of Lords, which is a part of the English government.

Family Background
Henry Daubeney was the son of Giles Daubeney, who was the 1st Baron Daubeney. His mother was Elizabeth Arundell. His father was a very respected knight, known as a Knight of the Garter.
Childhood Plans
When Henry was a young boy, his father had plans for him to marry. Before Henry turned 16, his father wanted him to choose a wife from the daughters of Sir John Basset. To help with this, two of Sir John's daughters, Anne and Thomasine Basset, even lived in the Daubeney home for a while.
However, this marriage never happened. Henry's father passed away when Henry was still young, and his mother then became his guardian. This change allowed Henry to avoid the marriage agreement. Later, one of the Basset daughters, Anne, married someone else.

Henry Daubeney took part in several significant events during his life.
- In 1513, he served in the Battle of the Spurs, a battle fought by English forces.
- In 1520, he attended the famous Field of the Cloth of Gold. This was a grand meeting between King Henry VIII of England and King Francis I of France, where they showed off their wealth and power. Henry Daubeney brought his first wife with him to this event.
- He was also present at the Calais Congress in 1532, another important meeting.
Becoming an Earl
Henry Daubeney was given the title of Earl of Bridgewater on July 19, 1538. This was a very high honor.

Henry Daubeney was married twice, but he did not have any children from either marriage.
- His first wife was Elizabeth Neville. She was the daughter of George Neville, who was the 5th Baron Bergavenny.
- His second wife was Lady Katherine Howard. She was the daughter of Thomas Howard, the 2nd Duke of Norfolk. Henry and Katherine married after 1531. They had disagreements and even tried to get a divorce in 1535.
Death and Titles
Henry Daubeney passed away on April 8, 1548. Since he had no children, his titles, the barony of Daubeney and the earldom of Bridgewater, ended when he died.
