In 1671, Henry took over the family title and estates. He became the 4th Lord Fairfax of Cameron after his cousin passed away. This meant he inherited the family home at Denton, North Yorkshire.
Henry also served in the English Parliament. He represented the area of Yorkshire. He was a Member of Parliament in March and October of 1679. He served again in 1681. This showed his commitment to public service.
