Herendeen Bay's History
Herendeen Bay first appeared in official records during the U.S. Census of 1890. At that time, it was called "Herendeen Bay Coal Mine." However, its population was counted as part of a larger area named "Ozernoi," which had 45 residents in total.
Later, Herendeen Bay was listed on its own in the 1920 census. It appeared again in 1940. Since then, it has not been reported in the census. Today, Herendeen Bay is considered a ghost town. This means it was once a populated place but is now mostly deserted.
