Hi Ho! Cherry-O is a fun board game for kids where players try to collect cherries. It's published by Hasbro and is played by two to four people. The game uses a spinner to decide what happens next.

The first version of Hi Ho! Cherry-O came out in 1960. It was created by Hermann Wernhard. In that game, players raced to collect 10 cherries. Later, in 2007, new rules were added. These rules let players work together to clear all the fruit from the board. A special "classic edition" was released in 2015 by Winning Moves Games USA.

How to Play Hi Ho! Cherry-O

Each player starts the game with an empty basket. They also have 10 cherries on their game board "tree." Players take turns spinning a special spinner. The spinner tells them what action to do.

What Can the Spinner Do?

The spinner has seven different sections. Each section tells you how many cherries to take or what to do with them:

  • Take one cherry off your tree.
  • Take two cherries off your tree.
  • Take three cherries off your tree.
  • Take four cherries off your tree.
  • Dog: If you land on the dog, you must put cherries back on your tree. You put back two cherries if you have at least two. If you only have one, you put back one. If your basket is empty, nothing happens.
  • Bird: This space works just like the dog space. You put cherries back on your tree.
  • Spilled basket: If you land here, you must return all your collected cherries back to your tree.

Winning the Game

The goal is to be the first player to collect all 10 cherries from your tree. Once you have all your cherries, you call out "Hi Ho! Cherry-O!" and you win the game!
