Hiam Abbass (born on November 30, 1960) is a talented actress and film director. She has both Israeli and French citizenship. Hiam Abbass is well-known for her roles in many movies and TV shows. Some of her famous films include The Syrian Bride (2004), Paradise Now (2005), and Lemon Tree (2008). She also played Marcia Roy in the popular TV series Succession from 2018 to 2023.

About Hiam Abbass
Hiam Abbass was born in Nazareth, Israel in 1960. She grew up in a village called Deir Hanna. Since the late 1980s, she has lived in Paris, France, and is also a French citizen.
When she was filming Munich in 2005, Hiam Abbass stayed in a hotel with actors from both Israel and Palestine. They lived together for three months. During this time, they had many important discussions. These talks helped the actors from both sides understand each other better.

Hiam Abbass has starred in many different films. She is known for her roles in movies like Red Satin (2002) and The Syrian Bride (2004). In The Syrian Bride, she played a woman who wanted to break down barriers. She also appeared in The Visitor (2008). In this movie, she played the mother of an immigrant.
In 2008, Hiam Abbass played the main role in the Israeli film Lemon Tree. For this role, she won an award for Best Actress. She also appeared in Blade Runner 2049 (2017), where she played Freysa, a leader of a freedom movement.
Besides acting, Hiam Abbass has also directed films. She directed two short films, Le Pain (2001) and La Danse éternelle (2004). In 2012, she directed her first full-length movie called The Inheritance.
Hiam Abbass has also been in several TV shows. These include The Promise (2011) and The State (2017). She was a main character in Succession from 2018 to 2023. She also appears in the comedy series Ramy (2019–present) and the drama series The Old Man (2022).
In 2023, Hiam Abbass was featured in a documentary film called Bye Bye Tiberias. This film was directed by her daughter, Lina Soualem. It tells the story of Hiam's journey to become an actress.
