History of Hicks City

Hicks City got its start a long time ago. In 1872, a post office was opened there. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. This post office helped the community connect with the rest of the world. It stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1906.

The community was named after a person named Russell Hicks. He was one of the first people to own the land where Hicks City is located.
