Life and Career of Hideo Nakata
Hideo Nakata was born in Okayama, Japan. He became very popular in the West for his work on Japanese horror films. These include the chilling movies Ring (1998), Ring 2 (1999), and Dark Water (2002). Many of these scary films were later remade in English for audiences outside Japan. For example, Ring became The Ring (2002), and Dark Water became Dark Water (2005).
Directing English-Language Films
Nakata was first planning to direct an English movie called True Believers, but he later decided not to. However, DreamWorks then asked him to direct The Ring Two (2005).
