Highland Spring is a company from Scotland that provides natural spring water in bottles. They make different kinds of water, like still (plain), sparkling (bubbly), and even flavored water. All their water comes from a special place near the Ochil Hills in Scotland. Their main factory is in a town called Blackford, Perth and Kinross. Even though the name "Highland Spring" sounds like it's from the Scottish Highlands, the factory is actually just outside that area. An important businessman named Mahdi Al Tajir owns the company.

The Story of Highland Spring

Highland Spring started as a company in 1979. They bottled their very first water product in 1980.

How Highland Spring Grew

Highland Spring makes its products at a factory in Blackford, Perth and Kinross. In 2010, the company bought another production site in Lennoxtown. This second site helps them make bottled water for supermarkets, often called "private-label" brands.

In 2017, something exciting happened: Highland Spring opened a brand new production line. The Queen herself officially opened it!

Being Eco-Friendly

Highland Spring is also working to be good for the environment. In January 2019, they became the first water brand in the UK to use bottles made from 100% recycled plastic. This means the plastic from old bottles is used to make new ones.

New Flavors

In April 2024, Highland Spring introduced a new line of flavored waters. This gave people more choices for their bottled water.

Where Highland Spring Water Is Sold

In 2023, Highland Spring sold a lot of water in the United Kingdom. They sold over 404 million liters of their branded water. This amount is actually less than 2% of the rain that falls in the area where they collect their water.

Moving Water by Train

In August 2022, Highland Spring opened a special train facility right next to their main factory in Blackford. This train terminal helps them move their products using trains instead of just trucks. It became fully ready to use in January 2023. Using trains is often better for the environment because it can reduce traffic and pollution.
