Highland Spring is a Scottish company that sells natural spring water in bottles. They make both still (non-fizzy) and sparkling water (fizzy) at their factory. This factory is located in a place called Blackford, Perth and Kinross, in Scotland. Even though the name "Highland Spring" sounds like it's from the Scottish Highlands, Blackford is actually not in that area.
The water for Highland Spring comes from special, protected land in the Ochil Hills. This land is kept organic, which means no harmful chemicals are used there. The company is owned by a businessman from the UAE named Mahdi Al Tajir.

About Highland Spring Water
Highland Spring is the most popular natural spring water brand in the UK. In 2021, they sold a lot of water, about 348.6 million litres. This means they had a big share of the bottled water market in the UK, around 10%.
How the Company Grew
The company has grown in two main ways. First, through "organic growth," which means they got bigger by selling more of their own products. Second, they grew by "acquisition," which means buying other companies.
For example, in 2001, they bought the Gleneagles Spring Water Company. This company was also based in Blackford. Later, in 2009, they bought the Speyside Glenlivet Water Company. In 2010, they also acquired Campsie Spring, a company from Glasgow. However, Highland Spring stopped making water at the Speyside Glenlivet site in 2020.
Who Runs the Company
In August 2021, Simon Oldham and Mark Steven became the Joint Managing Directors. They took over from Les Montgomery, who retired after working for the company for 36 years. The company is owned by Mahdi Al Tajir, a billionaire businessman.
Helping the Environment
Highland Spring cares about the environment and reducing plastic waste. In June 2018, they were the first UK water brand to try out a new type of plastic bottle. This bottle was made from 100% recycled plastic and could also be recycled again.
The trial was a success! So, in January 2019, they officially launched a range of these bottles. They called this new range the "Eco-Bottle." By 2020, all bottles in their "Eco-Bottle" range were made entirely from 100% recycled PET plastic.
Moving Water by Train
In August 2022, Highland Spring opened a special rail freight facility. This facility is right next to their main office in Blackford. They spent 10 years developing this project. It's a big step in their plan to become "net zero" by 2040. This means they want to balance the amount of greenhouse gases they put into the air with the amount they take out. Using trains instead of trucks helps reduce their carbon footprint.
