Highpoint is a very tall building in London, England. It is also known as 80 Newington Butts. Before it was built, people sometimes called it 360 London. This building is 142 metres (about 466 feet) tall. That's like 46 floors stacked on top of each other!
Highpoint is a residential tower. This means people live there. It has 458 apartments inside. It is located in an area of London called Elephant and Castle in the borough of Southwark. It was built on the spot where the London Park Hotel used to be.
What is Highpoint?
Highpoint was finished in 2018. It was built especially for renting out homes. This is called "built for rent" development. It is one of the tallest buildings of its kind in the country. Most of the apartments, 343 of them, are for private tenants to rent.
Homes for Many People
The apartments at Highpoint are managed by a company called Realstar Living. They use their UK brand, Uncle, to look after the homes. Besides the private rental homes, 115 apartments are for affordable housing. This means they are rented at a lower cost to help people. The Peabody Trust helps manage these affordable homes.
A New Place for Plays
Something exciting is also happening at Highpoint! The Southwark Playhouse is a theatre group. They are planning to open a brand new theatre inside the building. This will be a great place for people to watch plays and enjoy the arts.
