Playing Football

Hiroaki Hiraoka was born in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. After finishing university at Juntendo University, he joined a brand-new football club called Shimizu S-Pulse in 1992. This club was special because it was in his hometown.

Early Success

Hiraoka quickly became a key player for Shimizu S-Pulse. He played as a left side back, helping his team. The club did very well in the J.League Cup, reaching the final twice in a row. They finished in second place in both the 1992 and 1993 J.League Cup tournaments.

Moving to Other Clubs

Even though he was a regular player, Hiraoka didn't play as much in 1994. In 1996, he moved to Consadole Sapporo. This team played in the Japan Football League (JFL), which was a professional league below the top division. He didn't play many games there either. In 1997, he joined Albirex Niigata, a team in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level leagues. His team, Albirex Niigata, was promoted to the JFL in 1998. Hiroaki Hiraoka decided to retire from playing football at the end of the 1998 season.

Becoming a Coach

After he stopped playing, Hiroaki Hiraoka started a new journey in football: coaching. He began his coaching career with Albirex Niigata in 1999, the same club where he finished his playing days.

Managing Teams

In 2007, Hiraoka took on a bigger role. He became the manager for Albirex Niigata Singapore. He led this team for two years, until 2008. Later, he returned to his former club, Shimizu S-Pulse, as a manager. He managed the team in 2020 and then again from 2021 to 2022.
