Hiroki Hattori (服部 浩紀, Hattori Hiroki, born August 30, 1971) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He was born in Maebashi, Gunma, on August 30, 1971. Hattori played as a forward for several teams during his career. After he stopped playing, he became a football manager.
Hiroki Hattori's Playing Career
Hiroki Hattori started his professional football journey in 1994. He joined the team Yokohama Flügels after finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba. He quickly became an important player for the team.
In his first season, he played in many matches. His team, Yokohama Flügels, even won the 1994–95 Asian Cup Winners' Cup. This was a big achievement for the club.
By 1997, Hiroki Hattori was a regular player, meaning he played almost every game. He scored 11 goals that year, which is a great number for a forward. His team also reached the final of the 1997 Emperor's Cup, finishing in second place.
In 1998, he moved to another team called Kawasaki Frontale. The next year, in 1999, he played for Shimizu S-Pulse. However, he did not play as many games there.
In 2000, Hiroki Hattori joined Albirex Niigata and played a lot. Later that year, he moved to Avispa Fukuoka. He continued to play many matches for them. In 2003, he joined Sagan Tosu. He decided to stop playing professional football at the end of the 2003 season.
Becoming a Coach
After his playing days, Hiroki Hattori decided to become a football manager. In 2015, he took on the role of manager for Thespakusatsu Gunma, a team in the J2 League.
He managed the team for two seasons. However, the team's results were not as good as hoped. Because of this, he stepped down from his position at the end of the 2016 season.
