Hiroshi Sowa (楚輪 博, Sowa Hiroshi, born May 1, 1956) is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played as a midfielder and later coached several teams in Japan.

Playing Career
Hiroshi Sowa was born in Hiroshima, Japan, on May 1, 1956. After finishing his studies at Hosei University, he began his professional football career.
Playing for Yammar Diesel
From 1979 to 1990, Sowa played for a team called Yammar Diesel. This team later became known as Cerezo Osaka. He was a midfielder for them.
During his time with Yammar Diesel, Hiroshi Sowa played in 191 games. He scored 13 goals for his team. His skills were recognized, and he was chosen for the "Best Eleven" team in both 1981 and 1982. The "Best Eleven" is like an all-star team of the best players in the league.
Coaching Career
After he stopped playing football, Hiroshi Sowa started a new career as a coach. He began coaching at Cerezo Osaka in 1994.
Becoming a Manager
In 1996, Sowa became the manager of Cerezo Osaka. A manager is like the head coach who makes all the big decisions for the team.
The next year, in 1997, he moved to a different club called Sagan Tosu. This team was part of the Japan Football League at the time. He managed Sagan Tosu for a few years.
Managing in the J2 League
In 1999, Sagan Tosu joined a new league called the J2 League. Hiroshi Sowa continued to manage the team until the end of that year.
Later, in 2004, he signed with another team, YKK AP. This team also changed its name later to Kataller Toyama.
Promoting Kataller Toyama
Under Sowa's management, Kataller Toyama did very well. In 2008, the team finished in 3rd place in their league. This good performance meant they were promoted to the J2 League starting in 2009.
However, in the 2010 season, the team's results were not as good. Hiroshi Sowa was removed from his manager position in September of that year. At that time, the team was in 18th place out of 19 clubs.
