Hirotsugu Nakabayashi (中林 洋次, Nakabayashi Hirotsugu, born April 28, 1986 in Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama), often called Woods, is a Japanese football player. He plays as a goalkeeper for Nankatsu SC.

Hirotsugu Nakabayashi's Football Journey

Hirotsugu Nakabayashi started his football journey in his youth. From 1999 to 2001, he played for the youth team of Yokohama F. Marinos. After that, he continued to play football at Ichiritsu Funabashi High School from 2002 to 2004.

Starting Professional Career

Nakabayashi began his professional career in 2005 with Sagan Tosu. He played for them until 2008, appearing in 4 matches. In 2008, he moved to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. He stayed with Sanfrecce Hiroshima until 2011, playing in 28 games.

Time at Fagiano Okayama

In 2012, Nakabayashi joined Fagiano Okayama. This was a very important time in his career. He played a lot of matches for them, appearing in 193 games until 2016. He was a key player for the team during these years.

Return to Sanfrecce and Yokohama

After his time at Fagiano Okayama, Nakabayashi returned to Sanfrecce Hiroshima in 2017. He played 15 more games for them until 2019. In 2019, he went on loan to Yokohama F. Marinos, where he played 1 match. He then joined Yokohama F. Marinos permanently in 2020 and stayed until 2022.

Playing for Nankatsu SC

On December 22, 2022, Hirotsugu Nakabayashi joined Nankatsu SC. He moved to this club as a free player for the 2023 season. He continues to play as a goalkeeper for Nankatsu SC.
