Hiroyuki Nishijima (西嶋 弘之, Nishijima Hiroyuki, born April 7, 1982) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender.

Playing Career Highlights
Hiroyuki Nishijima was born in Kawai, Nara, Japan, on April 7, 1982. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey.
Early Career and First Clubs
In 2001, Nishijima joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima, a club in Japan's top football league, J1 League. For three years, he worked hard but did not get to play in any official matches.
In 2004, he moved to another J1 League team, Vissel Kobe. Again, he didn't play in any games during his time there.
Finding His Place at Consadole Sapporo
Later in 2004, Nishijima joined Consadole Sapporo, a team in the J2 League (Japan's second division). This is where his career truly took off!
He quickly became a regular player. He played as a left defender and appeared in every match until the end of the season.
From 2005, he faced some challenges with injuries. However, by the summer of 2006, he was back as a key player for Consadole.
Promotion to J1 League
In the 2007 season, Consadole Sapporo won the J2 League championship! This meant they were promoted to the J1 League.
Even though Consadole went back to J2 the next year, Nishijima continued to play in many matches. He often played as a side back until 2010.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2011, Nishijima moved to Tokushima Vortis, another J2 League club. He was a regular side back for two seasons there.
He then joined Yokohama FC in 2013. He played for two seasons but didn't get as much playing time.
In 2015, he moved to Giravanz Kitakyushu. He played many matches in his first year with the team. However, his playing time decreased from 2016. Giravanz was also relegated to the J3 League at the end of the 2016 season.
Hiroyuki Nishijima decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2017 season.
