Hofflins, Missouri facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Hofflins is a small, quiet place in the western part of Crawford County, in the state of Missouri. It's not a big city or town, but rather an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city does. Instead, it's part of the larger county.

You can find Hofflins right next to I-44, a major highway. It's about three miles northeast of a town called Cuba. Another town, Leasburg, is about three miles to the east. A train track, once part of the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, also runs through this area.

The Story of Hofflins

Hofflins has a short but interesting history. A post office, which is where people send and receive mail, was opened in Hofflins in 1903. This post office served the community for many years.

It stayed open for about 40 years, finally closing its doors in 1943. The community itself was named after the person who originally owned the land where Hofflins is located.
