Homayoun Shajarian (born May 21, 1975) is a famous singer from Iran. He is known for his work in traditional Iranian music. His father was the legendary singer Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, who was his first teacher. Homayoun began his own music career in the 1990s and has become one of Iran's most beloved vocalists.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Homayoun Shajarian was born in Tehran, the capital of Iran. He grew up in a very musical family. His father, Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, was a master of Persian traditional music.
From a young age, Homayoun learned to sing in the traditional Persian style called Avaz. He also learned to play musical instruments. He started with the tombak, a type of Persian hand drum. Later, he also studied the kamancheh, a stringed instrument played with a bow.
Career Highlights
To improve his skills, Shajarian went to the Tehran Conservatory of Music. There, he focused on playing the kamancheh under the guidance of the musician Ardeshir Kamkar.
In 1991, when he was a teenager, he joined his father's music group, the Ava Music Ensemble. He toured with them in the United States and Europe, playing the tombak. By 1999, he was not only playing an instrument but also singing alongside his father during concerts.
On his 28th birthday in 2003, Shajarian released his first album as a solo artist, called Nassim-e Vasl (which means "Wind of Reaching"). This marked the start of his successful independent career.
Over the years, he has released many popular albums and has performed for audiences all over the world. During the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, he held a special live-stream concert online so people could watch from home. In July 2024, he worked with the famous musician Sami Yusuf on a new song and music video.

Homayoun Shajarian was married to Guitta Khansari from 1995 to 2015. They have a daughter named Yasmine, who was born in 2007.
