Early Life and Career Beginnings
Honorine Dossou Naki was born in Port-Gentil, a city in Gabon. She went to primary school there and later attended secondary school in Libreville, the capital city.
In January 1975, she began her career at Gabon's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She held important roles, helping to manage how Gabon worked with other countries. From 1976 to 1980, she also worked closely with President Omar Bongo.
Working in Government and Diplomacy
From 1980 to 1990, Honorine Dossou Naki served as a Secretary of State, assisting the Minister of Foreign Affairs. She then became an adviser to the President on international relations from 1990 to 1994. This meant she helped the President with Gabon's relationships with countries around the world.
In 1994, she was chosen to be Gabon's Ambassador to France, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. An ambassador is like a country's main representative in another nation. She officially started her role as Ambassador to France in December 1994 and stayed in that position until 2002.
Becoming a Member of Parliament
In December 2001, Honorine Dossou Naki was elected to the National Assembly of Gabon. This is like being a member of parliament or congress in other countries. She represented the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) from the Ogooué-Maritime Province.

On October 17, 2009, she was appointed as a High Representative in charge of the Mandji Island Free Zone, a special position within the Presidency.

Honorine Dossou Naki is married to Samuel Dossou-Aworet. He was born in Cotonou but later became a citizen of Gabon. He also held important positions, including advising President Omar Bongo on oil matters for some time.
When she got married, Honorine Dossou Naki decided to use both her maiden name (Naki) and her married name (Dossou). She and her husband have six children.
