Huffman Eja-Tabe (born May 6, 1981, in Limbe, Cameroon) is a former professional soccer player. He played as a midfielder for several teams. These teams included the Toronto Lynx, Oakville Blue Devils, and Ottawa Fury. He competed in leagues like the USL First Division, Canadian Soccer League, and the USL Premier Development League.
Soccer Career
College Days
Before becoming a professional, Huffman played soccer in college. He played for four seasons at Algonquin College. He won a silver medal in 2001. In 2002, his team won the CCAA Championship. He earned another silver medal in 2003. In 2004, he became an OCAA Provincial Champion. He was also chosen as an OCAA League All-Star twice. In 2004, he was selected as a CCAA All-Canadian player.
Turning Professional
In 2004, Huffman played for Ottawa St. Anthony Italia. His coach was Hubert Busby, Jr.. The next year, in 2005, he became a professional player. Coach Busby, Jr. signed him to play for the Toronto Lynx. This team was part of the USL First Division. Huffman played his first game on April 23, 2005. He came into the game as a substitute. On August 21, 2005, he scored his first goal. It was during a game against the Puerto Rico Islanders. Huffman returned to the Toronto Lynx for the 2006 season.
Playing for Other Teams
In 2006, after playing only three matches, Huffman left the Toronto Lynx. He then joined the Oakville Blue Devils. This team played in the Canadian Soccer League. He helped them win the National Division title. In 2007, he signed with the Ottawa Fury. They were part of the USL Premier Development League. He played his first game for them on June 24, 2007, against the Brooklyn Knights.
