Early Life and Education
Hugh Worthington was born in Leicester, England. He began his studies at the Daventry Academy. This was a special school where he learned many important subjects. One of his teachers was Caleb Ashworth.
His Work and Contributions
Worthington became a pastor, which is a leader in a church. He worked at Salters' Hall in London starting in 1782. He also helped manage money and property for important groups. This role was called a trustee for Dr. Daniel Williams's foundations. He started this in 1785.
From 1786 to 1789, Worthington was a lecturer. He taught about "classics," which means ancient Greek and Roman studies. He also taught "logic," which is the study of correct reasoning. He wrote and published many sermons and other writings during his life.
Later Life and Legacy
Hugh Worthington passed away on July 26, 1813. He was buried in a famous burial ground called Bunhill Fields. This place is in London and is known for being the resting place of many important historical figures.
