History of Hunt
Hunt has an interesting past. It was once known by a slightly different name: Hunt's Station. This community began to grow in 1851. That was the year when the railroad tracks were extended to this very spot. The arrival of the railroad was a big event for the area.
Later, in 1866, a post office was opened in the community. It was first called the Hunts Station Post Office. Then, in 1882, the name was officially changed to just Hunt. The post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it eventually closed its doors in 1912.
