History of Hunter's Creek
The idea for Hunter's Creek started a long time ago. A company from Canada, Genstar Development Company, owned a huge piece of land in south Orange County, Florida. This land was about 3,840 acres!
Planning for this new community began in 1984. Construction officially started in 1986. It was a very big project, expected to take 15 to 20 years to finish.
In 1987, Genstar sold a lot of the land to another company called American Newland Associates. Later, in 1997, more land was sold to Westbrook Hunter's Creek, LP. Most of the homes and buildings in Hunter's Creek were built in the late 1980s and 1990s. Some parts of the community are still being built today.
