Hurdon is a neighbourhood found in New Plymouth, a city on the western side of New Zealand's North Island. It's located southwest of the main city area.
Long ago, in 1841, a man named Peter Elliot arrived here on a ship called the Amelia Thompson. He started the very first dairy farm in New Plymouth and named it Hurdon. Later, in 1853, a school was even set up in his barn!

Frankley School
Frankley School is a primary school in Hurdon for students in years 1 to 6. As of February 2024, the school has 290 students.
The school first opened in 1878 as Frankley Road School. A new school building with two rooms was built in 1910. The school then moved to its current location in 1969.
