Hurricane Lili (1996) facts for kids
Hurricane Lili was a very strong storm that happened in 1996. It caused a lot of damage, costing over $662 million. Sadly, 22 people lost their lives because of this hurricane. Lili affected several places, including Central America, Cuba, the Bahamas, and even the United Kingdom. It also passed close to southwestern Florida, but didn't cause much harm there. At its strongest, Lili's winds reached 115 miles per hour. Even with all the damage, the name Lili was not removed from the list of hurricane names in 1997.
