Club History and Leagues
Since it was founded, IFK Sundsvall has mostly played in the higher and middle levels of the Swedish football league system. The club had its most successful years in the top league, called Allsvenskan. They played there for five seasons: in 1976, 1977, and then from 1979 to 1981.
After those years, the closest they came to being in the top league again was in 1992. They played in a special league called Kvalsvenskan after doing well in Division 1 Norra.
Today, the club plays in Division 4 Medelpad. This is the sixth level of Swedish football.
